SU's 2025 Competition Goals

1. Engage the SU campus community in zero-waste activities and events while raising awareness about the daily actions we each can take to minimize waste on campus, at home, and in our community.

 2. Rank within the top 3 schools in the diversion category throughout the competition. Last year, Seattle University placed 2nd in the diversion category, effectively diverting 62.67% of waste.

3. Rank within the top 10 schools for the e-waste special category.

4. To divert more materials from the landfill. Last year we diverted over 65 tons of material throughout the 8-week competition.

  • That it is SU's goal to become a Zero Waste campus!
  • That 50% of SU's trash is actually compostable!
  • That all of SU's pre-consumers food waste is composted on campus and reused on our grounds!
